Privacy Policy
What information Phins handles, and what it does not.
Last updated October 3, 2026
The Short Version
You can read everything on Phins without giving us any personal information. We do not sell personal information, and we do not use advertising trackers.
Information You Give Us
- Email you send us. If you write to [email protected], we receive your email address and whatever you include, and use it to reply.
- Account details, when accounts are available. Your email address, your password (kept in scrambled form by our sign-in provider, never readable by us), and what you save in your account, such as your picks and the fighters you follow.
Information Collected Automatically
- Basic technical data. Like any website, the company that hosts Phins (Cloudflare) receives your IP address, your browser type and the pages requested, in order to deliver the site and protect it from abuse.
- Visit counts. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count page visits and measure loading times. It does this without cookies and is not used to follow you across other sites.
- A setting stored in your browser. The site remembers whether you last looked at Fighter Elo or Classic Elo. That choice stays in your browser and is not sent to us.
- Sign-in storage, when accounts are available. Your browser keeps a sign-in token so you stay logged in.
We do not use advertising cookies or trackers that follow you across other sites. If we add other tools later, this policy will be updated first.
Other Services Your Browser Contacts
To show the site, your browser connects directly to a few outside services, which receive your IP address as part of that connection:
- Cloudflare, which hosts the site and counts visits.
- Google Fonts, which supplies the typefaces.
- Wikipedia, on event days, to read fight results as they are posted.
- Our sign-in and database provider (Supabase), when accounts are available.
Each of those services handles that information under its own privacy policy.
How We Use Information
- to run, secure and improve the site;
- to operate your account and save what you put in it;
- to answer your emails;
- to send messages about your account, and other emails only if you asked for them;
- to meet legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Use.
When We Share Information
We do not sell or rent personal information. We share it only with the service providers named above, who handle it on our behalf; when the law requires it; to protect the rights and safety of Phins and its users; or as part of a sale or transfer of the site, in which case this policy would continue to apply to your information.
How Long We Keep It
Account information is kept while your account is open and deleted within a reasonable time after you close it, unless the law requires us to keep it longer. Emails you send us are kept only as long as needed to deal with them.
Your Choices
You can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, by writing to [email protected]. You can clear the setting stored in your browser at any time through your browser's settings. Depending on where you live, you may have further rights under local law, and we will honor requests made under them.
Children
Phins is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child under 13 has given us personal information, write to [email protected] and we will delete it.
Security
We use reputable providers and reasonable measures to protect information, but no website can promise perfect security.
Visitors From Outside the United States
Phins is run from the United States, and information is processed there. By using the site you understand that your information may be handled in the United States.
Changes
We will post any change to this policy on this page and update the date at the top.
